Overview of the Position Responsibilities
A Security Engineer designs, implements, and maintains security measures to protect our master data set and systems from cyber threats. This includes identifying vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents.
What You Will Do
- Building Security Awareness: Influence the development of Bluepeak’s security program to protect data and systems. Explain policies and practices to others. Perform related duties as assigned.
- Security Design and Implementation: Develop security policies, procedures, and controls. Design and implement secure network solutions. Configure and maintain security tools like firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems. Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
- Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Analyze threats and develop mitigation strategies. Assess effectiveness of security measures.
- Incident Response: Monitor for security incidents. Investigate breaches and determine root causes. Develop incident response plans. Respond to incidents and coordinate resolution.
- Collaboration: Work with the Bluepeak Engineering Team to integrate security into infrastructure. Collaborate with security professionals to share best practices.
- Stay Technically Current: Keep informed on security threats. Continuously learn new security technologies and techniques.
What You Will Need
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Proficiency with security tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of security standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation languages.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5+ years in an analytical security role.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience with data collection software and protocols.
- Data analysis and systems integration experience.
- Knowledge of API management and data reporting is a plus.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Prolonged sitting and working on a computer.
- Regular talking and hearing.
- Frequent movement including sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking.
- Use of hands for handling objects and paperwork.
- Focus on close vision.
