Job summary

The Cisco Systems, Inc. team in the Security & Trust Organization seeks an early-career Security Engineer to support applied security research and engineering, focusing on secure AI-enabled DevSecOps.

You’ll perform routine security tasks under guidance, run tests, contribute to basic tooling, and document findings in alignment with Cisco SDLC practices. You will assist with threat modeling for AI-native features, conduct adversarial testing, and help harden cybersecurity controls across CI/CD

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree completed within the past 3 years or expected within 12 months.
Education and work experience should be in CS, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
Foundational knowledge of security engineering, software development, AI/ML, or applied research.
Working knowledge of Python and ability to develop/test basic scripts.

Responsibilities

Executes routine, well-defined security engineering assignments using established practices with detailed guidance.
Supports vulnerability/risk assessments, security code reviews, validation testing, remediation, and hardening activities.
Assists with threat models for AI-native features including prompt injection, data poisoning, and supply-chain risks.
Runs defined adversarial tests, records evidence, and escalates complex findings.
Contributes basic Python tooling, evaluation cases, guardrails, and automated security checks under review.
