Job summary

Cisco is seeking an experienced security data engineer to design and build AI-enabled threat detection, with a focus on scalable backend services and integration of large-scale telemetry. You will prototype AI features, develop an AI DevOps pipeline, and help architect a platform that correlates massive event signals for analysts.

You will collaborate with security SMEs, researchers, and product teams to deliver intuitive, scalable workflows and contribute to enterprise automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of related experience or Master's with 4+ years.
• Experience with storage systems and storage access layers.
• Experience with data platforms and/or data lakes and warehouses or streaming platforms.
• Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, and automation workflows in Python or Go.
• Experience designing agent systems that will perform coding tasks for you.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems that combine security data, detection signals, context, and foundation models to spot threats.
• Prototype and test new AI features with SMEs and researchers to validate real-world utility.
• Develop an AI DevOps pipeline for rapid experimentation with data, knowledge bases, and context memory.
• Architect and build the distributed platform that can correlate trillions of events and signals into explainable findings for triage agents.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to co-design AI-enhanced threat detection workflows that are scalable and useful to analysts.
• Contribute to the core architecture powering AI-native security operations to scale trusted automation at the enterprise.
