Job summary

Cisco is seeking an experienced AI-enabled security engineer in the U.S. to design and build scalable backend systems that fuse security data, signals, and context into actionable threat insights. You will prototype AI features and collaborate with SMEs to validate real-world utility.

You’ll help develop the AI DevOps pipeline and distributed platform capable of handling vast event data, shaping how Cisco deploys trusted automation across enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Master's degree with 6+ years of related experience.
• Experience with storage systems and storage access layers.
• Experience implementing data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses.
• Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, and automation in Python.
• Experience designing agent systems for automated coding tasks.
• Experience with telemetry data sources (endpoint logs, network, auth, cloud audit).

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems that fuse security data, signals, context, and foundation models to detect threats.
• Prototype and test AI features with security experts to validate utility.
• Develop an AI DevOps pipeline for rapid experimentation with data and memory contexts.
• Architect a distributed platform to correlate trillions of events into explainable findings.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to co-design AI-enabled threat workflows.
• Contribute to architecture powering AI-native security operations for Cisco scale.
