Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks an early-career Security Engineer to support applied security research and engineering for secure AI use across Cisco. Under guidance, you will perform routine security assignments, run tests, and document evidence while contributing to basic tooling and SDLC practices.

You will help engineering teams identify and reduce risk through established security practices and collaboration across security, automation, and AI-enabled DevSecOps efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of security engineering, software development, AI/ML, or applied research.
• Working knowledge of Python and the ability to develop and test basic scripts.

Responsibilities

• Executes routine security tasks and supports applied security research for AI security across Cisco.
• Performs defined tests, validates findings, and documents evidence and results.
• Contributes basic Python tooling and guardrails within Secure Development Lifecycle and CI/CD workflows.
• Assists with threat models for AI-native features (RAG, prompt injection, data poisoning) and related risks.
• Supports data-protection controls and security hardening activities as part of engineering teams.
