Job summary

Aces Dispensary is seeking a Security Dispensary Associate to maintain a safe, compliant environment for customers and staff at the Plainfield location. You will monitor access, respond to incidents, and support opening/closing procedures while staying aligned with IL cannabis regulations.

When not on security duties, you may assist with dispensary operations, including POS transactions and customer flow, ensuring a smooth, compliant customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Illinois dispensing organization agent identification card and other credentials.
• Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• 1 year retail or hospitality experience involving POS and basic computer skills preferred; cannabis retail experience is a plus.
• Must comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies.

Summary

The Security Dispensary Associate is a customer-service-oriented, operationally focused frontline team member responsible primarily for maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant dispensary environment for customers, employees, visitors, and inventory. This role monitors access points, helps prevent theft and diversion, responds appropriately to incidents, and supports opening and closing procedures. When not assigned to security duties, the associate may assist with dispensary operations as trained, authorized, and directed by management. All work must comply with applicable Illinois cannabis laws, IDFPR requirements, company policies, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Security

• Monitor and control facility access; verify identification, age, and eligibility for entry in accordance with store procedures and applicable regulations.
• Conduct interior and exterior observations or patrols as assigned to deter theft, loitering, diversion, and unauthorized access.
• Observe surveillance and alarm systems as authorized; promptly report malfunctions, suspicious activity, and security concerns.
• Respond calmly to disturbances, conflicts, and security incidents; use de-escalation techniques and notify management.
• Contact emergency services or coordinate with law enforcement when appropriate and in accordance with company procedures.
• Support required visitor logs, restricted-access controls, security records, and incident reporting.
• Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns, and medical incidents, consistent with training.
• Support secure opening and closing procedures and help maintain a clean, safe, customer-ready environment

Additional Dispensary Duties - When Not Assigned to Security

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle transactions accurately when trained and authorized.
• Welcome customers as a host, verify IDs as assigned, and help manage customer flow and lines.
• Assist with receiving and documenting cultivator deliveries in accordance with inventory and compliance procedures.
• Support order coordination, pick-and-pack fulfillment, and bulk-to-shelf inventory movement as directed.
• Assist management with operational tasks and staffing coordination within the scope of the role.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
