Job summary

Allied Universal in San Diego, CA is hiring a Security Officer - Utility Company Dispatcher to monitor alarms, access controls, and dispatch responses for a utilities site.

You will provide customer service to personnel and visitors, coordinate communications during outages or emergencies, and maintain dispatch logs. This full-time role offers stable shifts and a chance to contribute to a secure environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and utility operations partners by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor dispatch communications, alarms, cameras, and utility-related systems; document activity and relay relevant information to field personnel, supervisors, and emergency responders.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Coordinate communications for routine operations, outages, maintenance activities, and emergency events while maintaining accurate dispatch logs and incident records.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the utility location, including business areas and perimeter, as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
