Job description

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from current and prospect customers, current employees and from the public.
• Gather and record accurate information from callers by telephone, email and two way radio communication.
• Dispatch appropriate personnel or resources to incidents or service requests to include police, fire and supervisors.
• Monitor and track the status of ongoing incidents or service requests
• Coordinate communication between field units, supervisors, customers and other entities
• Provide clear and concise instructions to callers or field units as needed
• Maintain accurate records of all calls and actions taken
• Follow established protocols and procedures for handling different types of incidents

Experience

• Previous experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role is preferred
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficient in using computer systems, two way radio and dispatch software
• Knowledge of conflict management techniques
• Experience in report writing and documentation
• Familiarity with loss prevention strategies
