Ideal candidates have supervisory experience in a correctional setting and a high school diploma, with college coursework in behavioral sciences or related field; mature and capable of handling stress in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working in a correctional setting, supervisory role preferred.
• Must be mature, flexible, and able to handle mental stress.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing and implementing policies for custody, security and treatment of detainees.
• Responds to major occurrences and provides prompt assistance for detainees.
• Promotes positive behavior and manages staff and detainee relations.
• Directs work, hires, trains, evaluates performance, and handles disciplinary actions.
• Reviews staff performance and ensures policy compliance through inspections.
