Job summary

Avalore is seeking a Technical Writer in Maryland to prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents for software, hardware, and DoD systems. You will write installation, configuration, and end-user guides, and collaborate with engineers to produce training materials and publications.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and six years of TW experience; TS/SCI clearance is required. Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio is expected.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional TW experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with an appropriate polygraph is required to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and end-user guides.
• Create code documentation for software and production implementation guides.
• Maintain a current internal documentation library and publish technical publications.
• Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and documents for diverse audiences.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical information to produce clear publications.
