Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to prepare, review, and maintain a wide range of documentation for DoD programs. You will produce user guides, installation procedures, and training materials, collaborating with engineers to ensure accuracy and clarity.

This role requires six years of experience, a technical degree, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings. Security clearance with polygraph is required, and experience with NSA DS-89 is a plus.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs of similar scope.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; substitution allowed with experience.
• Experience producing DoD-focused documentation and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and maintain operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and publications.
• Write and edit technical copy for a variety of document types with strong grammar.
• Gather technical information from multiple sources and convert to clear text.
• Maintain an up-to-date internal documentation library.
• Use MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio for documentation tasks.
• Collaborate with developers to create high-quality documentation and training materials.
• Support all phases of the documentation lifecycle.
• Produce reports, responses, and briefings for diverse audiences.
• Coordinate document layout, formatting, and design.
• Synthesize complex technical material into accessible written form.
• Develop documentation from engineering drawings, SME input, and related sources.
• Produce DoD-focused documentation such as acquisition materials and user manuals.
• Interpret engineering drawings and procedures to integrate technical information.
• Create documentation for Cryptologic programs tied to analytic tradecraft.
• Apply NSA DS-89 standard when developing work products.
