Job summary

RTX is seeking a mid-level Senior Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department in Tucson, AZ. The role requires detailed structural analysis across program phases and the ability to present findings to internal and external customers.

You will perform hand calculations to FEM analyses, define scope, and ensure compliance with customer requirements. Candidates must have a DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and be able to obtain an interim clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with structural analysis tools (PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS/ABAQUS).
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance and U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all program phases.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware against requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Work independently on complex problems and meet cost/schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews and provide reviews of others' work.
• Present results to stakeholders and customers.
• Generate detailed archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites as needed for discussion and validation.
• Act as technical leader to define MA&T processes and tools and lead teams to milestones.
