Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering to lead a high‑performing FDE team serving strategic enterprise customers. You will drive delivery excellence, mentor engineers, and collaborate with customers to migrate data, build AI/GenAI platforms, and deploy scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of people leadership in technical delivery teams.
• 5+ years hands-on IC as architect or data/AI engineer.
• Experience leading large-scale data migrations and AI/ML programs.
• Strong stakeholder management, able to influence at the C-suite level.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regional performance targets including billable utilization, team growth, and hiring.
• Partner with Account Executives, Engagement Managers, and Field Engineering leaders to position, scope, and deliver Professional Services programs.
• Establish best practices for project oversight, risk management, and quality standards that scale with a growing FDE practice.
• Synthesize field insights to guide the Databricks roadmap and create reusable accelerators and frameworks.
• Serve as the escalation point for high-stakes customer situations, protecting strategic relationships and driving rapid resolution.
• Mentor Forward Deployed Engineers through structured career pathways and technical coaching.
