Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Fire Chief to oversee the Fire & Emergency Services program in support of the U.S. Navy at Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kaua'i, Hawai'i.

You will lead a 24-hour rotating team, enforce discipline, and ensure readiness of fire apparatus, equipment and OSH programs. The role requires extensive DoD-standard certifications, strong leadership, and the ability to operate under pressure while coordinating with military and civilian partners.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current Driver's License.
• Fire Officer IV certification.
• Fire Inspector III certification.
• Fire Instructor II certification.
• NFPA 1582 medical requirements.
• HazMat - Incident Command certification.
• EVOC and AVOC certifications.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a 24-hour rotating shift operation.
• Administer corrective actions to maintain discipline.
• Inspect and maintain fire apparatus, equipment and facilities.
• Develop and maintain fire prevention and education programs.
• Lead F&ES training and OSH program development.
• Deploy and supervise emergency response teams for various incidents.
• Oversee self-inspection program and compliance reporting.
• Prepare plans and briefs for missile test operations and VIP visits.
• Manage department budget and funds.
