Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a DevOps Engineer (Level 3 or 4) in Linthicum, MD to join our Space Systems Sector. You will manage CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and support containerized applications on Linux. Strong Java, Kubernetes, and scripting skills required; TS clearance and U.S. citizenship are prerequisites.

Roles can be filled at Level 3 or Level 4 depending on experience; travel up to 10% may be required, and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master’s with 3+; PhD with 1+; additional 4 years in lieu of a degree.
• Level 4 requires 8+ years with bachelor’s, 6+ with master’s, or 4+ with PhD; 4 years in lieu of degree allowed.
• Must obtain and maintain a US Government TS clearance with Full Scope Polygraph; US Citizenship required
• Strong experience building and running containers
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Shell scripting proficiency
• Experience with git
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or Jenkins preferred)
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with messaging software (Kafka, Artemis, etc.)
• Must understand Java for design, implementation and reviews
• Must understand Git for releases, patches and deployments
• Must understand Kubernetes/Helm for deployments and IT&D integration

Responsibilities

• Manage CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments.
• Monitor system health and perform infrastructure as code tasks.
• Support developer workflows with source control and code reviews.
• Work with Kubernetes and containerization in a cloud/enterprise environment.
