Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to perform hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and operation of critical data center equipment, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, AHU, pumps, VFDs and BMS systems.

You will work 12-hour rotating shifts, support operations teams, conduct routine rounds, record readings, manage CMMS work orders, supervise contractors on site, and ensure safety and security procedures are followed while driving

Qualifications

• 1+ years electrical or mechanical, or data center facilities experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical data center equipment.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform routine maintenance (filters, HVAC PMs, rack power installs).
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Record readings during rounds and CMMS updates.
• Supervise contractors on site for servicing or PMs.
• Respond to off-hour emergency calls as assigned.
• Comply with security procedures and policies.
• Drive cost-efficient operational improvements.
• Manipulate small wires and objects.
