Job summary

Alameda County Community Food Bank in Oakland is seeking a Security Associate I to serve as the first responder for safety and security across the 118,000 sq. ft. facility.

The role requires knowledge of food bank safety policies, incident reporting, compliance, and the ability to supervise visitor flow. You will work Monday through Friday, with possible weekends, and must have a CA Security Guard Card and experience in professional security or nonprofit settings.

Qualifications

• CA Security Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services.
• Minimum of two years of corporate security or customer service experience in professional service or nonprofit organization.
• Working knowledge of incident investigations and report writing.
• Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; demonstrated ability to interact positively with staff, colleagues, and partners.
• Excellent customer service skills, including empathy, tact, and patience.
• Ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure, and manage visitor traffic.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• MS Outlook and MS Word for emails and incident reports.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• High degree of accuracy and dependability; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
