Job summary

Penumbra, Inc. in Alameda, CA is seeking a Security Officer I to oversee the general physical security of the Alameda campus and grounds. You will document irregular conditions and communicate them continuously, with a set Thursday–Sunday 6:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule.

Responsibilities include patrolling, restricting access, coordinating emergency response, and reporting health and environmental safety issues. Strong communication and basic office skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass a background check with no convictions related to moral turpitude.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible presence to discourage vandalism, theft, and burglary.
• Observe, report, and effectively communicate site conditions.
• Conduct onsite patrols and prevent unauthorized access.
• Notify and coordinate site emergency response.
• Document and report facilities, health, and environmental safety issues.
• Interact cordially and professionally with employees and visitors.
• Assist in monitoring and securing hazardous materials used in production.
