Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Coral Gables is seeking a Security person to fill the overnight shift (11pm to 7am). The role involves continuous patrols of the hotel and surrounding properties to ensure safety for guests and staff, and to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.

Responsibilities include interior/exterior patrols, inspecting doors and alarms, enforcing security policies, monitoring entrances, handling incidents, and maintaining detailed incident reports and logs.

Qualifications

• Must speak, read, and understand English.
• Previous Security or Loss Prevention Experience Preferred.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the hotel, grounds, parking areas, and buildings.
• Inspect doors, windows, gates, equipment, and security systems for hazards and unauthorized access.
• Enforce hotel security policies, including access control and trespassing prevention.
• Monitor entrances, screen personnel, maintain key control, and conduct escorts as needed.
• Respond to security calls, disturbances, emergencies, and contact authorities when necessary.
• Monitor fire alarms and security systems; maintain First Aid/CPR certifications.
• Prepare incident and activity reports; maintain logs and dispatch officers as required.
• Regulate traffic and report security concerns to supervisors.

Courtyard by Marriott Coral Gables is seeking a Security person to fill the overnight shift (11pm to 7am). The purpose of Security is to make continuous patrols of the hotel and surrounding properties to ensure the security of the hotel as well as the safety of the guest, vendors, customers and associates; Inspect property to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.

Essential Job Functions

• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the hotel, grounds, parking areas, and buildings to ensure the safety and security of guests, associates, and property.
• Inspect doors, windows, gates, equipment, and security systems to identify hazards, unauthorized access, tampering, or suspicious activity.
• Enforce hotel security policies and procedures, including access control, bag inspections, parking regulations, no-solicitation rules, and trespassing prevention.
• Monitor associate entrances, screen personnel entering and exiting, maintain proper key control, and conduct escorts when requested.
• Respond calmly and professionally to security calls, disturbances, guest concerns, emergencies, and criminal activity; contact police or fire departments when necessary.
• Monitor fire alarms, alarm systems, guest room security systems, and fire control operations; identify hazards and maintain current First Aid/CPR certifications.
• Prepare accurate incidents, accident, theft, and activity reports; maintain daily logs, handle phone calls, dispatch officers, and communicate important information to appropriate personnel.
• Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic, conduct safety inspections, protect company property, and report security concerns or policy violations to supervisors.
• Full-time hours available (at least 30 hours per week). Must be available during the hours of 11:00pm until 7:00 am.

Experience/Education

Previous Security or Loss Prevention Experience Preferred. Must speak, read, and understand English.
