Job summary

Loews Coral Gables Hotel is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to be the cornerstone of safety for guests and team members across a AAA Four-Diamond property. You will patrol the property, respond to emergencies, and maintain logs while upholding hotel policies and providing exceptional guest interactions.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years in hotel security, calm decision-making, strong communication, and a service-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel security or related field preferred (1–3 years).
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to operate departmental vehicles, including electric transport vehicles.
• Basic first-aid certification or ability to administer first aid preferred.
• Knowledge of security systems, safety regulations and emergency response protocols preferred.
• Experience using CCTV systems and other security technology preferred.
• Experience in customer service or hospitality to enhance guest interactions preferred.
• Background in law enforcement or military service is a plus.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills to identify and address security concerns.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with guests and team members.
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation for incidents and safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to team member entrances, ensuring a secure environment for guests and staff.
• Execute regular patrols throughout the hotel to identify and address safety hazards.
• Respond effectively to emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain detailed logs for visitor access and package removal.
• Inspect packages entering and exiting the premises.
• Document security incidents and actions taken for transparency and accountability.
• Enforce hotel policies and regulations consistently, fostering safety and respect.
• Interact professionally with guests, addressing concerns and enhancing their experience.
• Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities.
• Facilitate communication with management on safety-related maintenance issues.
• Manage lost and found items to uphold hotel standards.
• Collaborate with team members to support health and safety training initiatives.
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
• Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
