RTX in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking a Secure System Engineer Intern for Summer 2027. You’ll join the Embedded Product Cybersecurity Engineering team to support SSDLC practices, develop cyber-resilient systems, and help create testing tools.

The role emphasizes fuzzing, threat modeling, and code reviews in a hands-on environment. You'll contribute to security engineering across product development, gain Python scripting experience, and learn to isolate data and implement access controls under

Formación

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in an applicable discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Solid understanding of fundamental cybersecurity principles.
• High proficiency in Python programming.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of network protocols and secure architectures.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with developing and executing fuzzing and penetration tests to evaluate attack surface robustness.
• Develop threat models and data flow diagrams to ensure data is properly isolated in transit and at rest.
• Implement mandatory access controls (MAC) through the development of SELinux policies.
• Participate in code reviews to identify weaknesses in the implementation of security functions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments on proposed and in-service systems.
• Develop and improve tools and scripts that enhance the overall efficacy of the Embedded Product Cybersecurity team.
