Job summary

RTX in Woburn, MA seeks a Section Leader in the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities group within the Long Range Radars department. This onsite role supports staff development, performance discussions, and workforce planning while aligning with program leadership.

The position emphasizes coaching, staffing, and driving continuous improvement in engineering practices and team culture, while maintaining primary technical duties in the department.

Qualifications

• Typically requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with defensive radar systems and/or Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence systems.
• Experience leading technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and career development support for section members.
• Conduct regular performance discussions, including goal-setting and feedback.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention activities.
• Foster a supportive, collaborative environment that promotes growth and engagement.
• Partner with program and functional leadership to understand workforce needs and resolve staffing challenges.
• Champion continuous improvement in engineering practices, workflow, and team culture.
• Manage administrative responsibilities such as timekeeping, training compliance, and salary planning.
