Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a highly skilled virtualization engineer in Colorado Springs to deploy and manage on-prem VMware environments within an Agile team. The role emphasizes security, STIG compliance, and collaboration with vendor consultants to deliver reliable IaaS capabilities for development and operations facilities.

You will design, implement, test, and support VMware-based infrastructure, integrate Active Directory, and help drive project schedules while mitigating risks and sharing

Qualifications

• Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
• 3+ years of general work experience.
• 3+ years of directly related experience.
• IAT Level II certification (Sec+).
• Minimum 2 years of virtualization experience.
• Experience with VMware installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Active Directory integration of virtualized products.
• 2 years of VMware implementation/administration experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline (desirable).
• Current VMware certification (desirable).
• Experience installing and configuring VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) (desirable).
• DISA STIG compliance and hardening knowledge (desirable).
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision (desirable).
• Team-oriented with cross-team collaboration (desirable).
• Experience with Dell server products (desirable).
• Knowledge of deploying Virtual Desktops with Citrix and Horizon (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, implement, and test the deployment of on-premises virtualization solutions
• Work within an Agile Team to provide Infrastructure and Platform as a Service capability at software development and operational facilities
• Work closely with vendor technical consultants to deploy critical systems
• Provide key input to project schedules, identifies and mitigates risks, documents lessons learned, and delivers regular updates to stakeholders
