Job summary

Forge Forward Inc. in Charleston, SCis seeking an on-site Technical Writer with a SECRET clearance. You will own Navy C4I documentation, manage CM/KM assets, and maintain authoritative diagrams and artifacts across the engineering lifecycle.

You will coordinate with engineers, cybersecurity, and program staff, using Visio, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, CMPro, and Microsoft Office to keep documentation current and traceable. Strong background in DoD documentation lifecycles is required.

Qualifications

• Requires 7+ years in technical documentation or related DoD engineering docs.
• Experience supporting Navy C4I documentation, configuration records, KM assets.
• Expert use of Visio for network/system diagrams; adept with Jira/Confluence/SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain configuration-controlled technical docs and knowledge assets for Navy C4I teams.
• Support configuration management activities: item IDs, baselines, status accounting, change tracking, release docs.
• Use CMPro for records and ECR workflows; maintain version histories.
• Coordinate with engineers, cybersecurity, and program staff to update docs and knowledge assets.
• Build and maintain Confluence knowledge bases, SOP libraries, Agile spaces, and reference pages.
• Organize and publish program docs using SharePoint/Teams; control access.
• Support Jira-based Agile workflows to track documentation work across sprints.
• Draft, revise, format, and maintain user guides, SOPs, manuals, and contract deliverables.
• Review content for clarity, structure, and compliance with DoD/Navy standards.
• Maintain templates, glossaries, and metadata for consistency.
• Version-control Visio diagrams and related artifacts for accuracy.
