Job summary

Crystal Management | CMIT seeks a Telephone Systems OSP Technician for the Kirtland AFB C4 Contract in Albuquerque, NM. You will install and maintain voice and data infrastructure across the installation, including LAN cabling and VoIP devices.

The role requires copper/fiber installation and testing experience, customer service, and adherence to safety standards. A NM Telephone Journeyman License (ES-7J) and BICSI certification are preferred, with a SECRET clearance required.

Qualifications

• Familiar with copper and fiber installation and testing standards.
• Experience with interior and/or exterior cable installation, maintenance, and testing.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems and practices.
• Familiarity with copper and fiber installation, repair, and cable locating.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and work with customers and coworkers.
• Understanding of safety practices and regulations in telecom environments.
• Experience with tools and test equipment for telephone and data networks.
• Must be a self-starter with refined critical thinking and leadership when directing others.
• Diplomatic, multi-task capable, adaptive to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain voice and data infrastructure across the installation.
• Install, terminate, test, and activate LAN cabling and telecommunication end devices, including VoIP devices.
• Locate cables for dig permits; perform interior and exterior cable repairs.
• Occasionally splice copper and fiber; perform cable testing.
• Install other low voltage cables or low speed circuits.
• Follow base, industry, and safety standards and legal requirements.
• Complete work orders, dig permits, or outage reports.
• Coordinate with customers, permitting office, and other work centers.
• Document and label all work; enter records into electronic systems as required.
• Coordinate with customers and other contractors on specific requirements.
