Job summary

CMiT seeks a Secure Communications Technician to install and maintain secure voice and data networks at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. You will handle COMSEC material inventories, recruitment of installs, re-keys, and upgrades, and maintain accurate records for all managed devices.

The role requires DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification, TACLANE training, and a valid NM driver's license. On-site, temporary September–April, with strict safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of telecommunications systems and practices.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Customer service experience.
• Follow proper safety practices, procedures, and regulations.
• Physical requirements including climbing ladders, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Familiar with SKL, TACLANE Encryptors, Secteras, vIPers, STEs, OMNIs, and Iridiums.
• Detail-oriented with good record management and documentation skills.
• Strong critical thinking, self-starting, and leadership abilities.
• Diplomatic, multi-task capable and adaptable to dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) and/or Secure Voice Responsible Officer (SVRO).
• Coordinate with the customer on requirements and with other contractors as needed.
• Follow oral and written instructions and maintain cooperative relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Use tools and test equipment for installation and maintenance of secure voice/data networks.
