Job summary

Cambridge International Systems, Inc. is seeking an Optical Network Engineer to support DoD operations at Fort Meade, MD. This full-time CONUS position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and carries a base salary range from $114,660 to $130,000 annually.

You will develop test plans, test cases, and reports for optical equipment, perform Tier III support with Tier II engineers, and help ensure interoperability across OTN, SONET, DWDM, TDM, and Ethernet networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of Optical systems engineering experience in telecom networks.
• Security+ or 8570 IAT II equivalent; obtainable within 3 months of joining.

Responsibilities

• Develop test cases, reports, and implementation plans evaluating architectures and new technologies.
• Serve as Tier III optical engineer aiding Tier II and vendors to resolve network issues.
• Perform optical testing including DWDM, SONET, TDM, Ethernet interoperability and BERT testing.
• Provide SME support in identifying equipment capabilities and ensure network integrity.
