Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Media Specialist for locating, cataloging, and distributing media and technical documents. This role ensures secure handling of classified and unclassified materials, while maintaining accurate inventory and supporting digitization projects.

The position supports the NSWCDD V- Department, requiring the ability to process shipments, manage documentation, and work with barcode-based systems in a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment; able to work alone or in a team.
• Experience with inventory databases, barcode systems, or document management software.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, catalog, and distribute media and documentation.
• Maintain centralized media library operations and provide customer service support.
• Maintain accurate inventories using barcode tracking systems and approved databases.
• Process requests for controlled media and documentation; verify authorization and security clearance.
• Assist with digitization and scanning projects to convert paper records into electronic formats.
• Prepare configuration-controlled media for shipment and generate shipping documentation.
