Job summary

Sayres & Associates, LLC seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer with active SECRET clearance for Washington, DC and naval ship design support. In this role you will provide SME expertise on Hull systems (e.g. T-AGOS, T-AO, T-ATS, T-AOL, T-ARC), lead design reviews, and support concept through construction activities across ship programs.

Strong 3D modeling and ABS knowledge are required. You will collaborate with PMS 300/325 teams to optimize mechanical systems, perform analyses, and ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 7+ years in ship design.
• Active Secret clearance verifiable in DISS/JPAS.
• Experience with ABS and military specifications.
• 3D modeling and ship system integration experience.
• Ability to perform design reviews and analyses.

Responsibilities

• Support concept studies, feasibility studies, preliminary and detail design.
• Contribute to ship systems and equipment studies.
• Provide mechanical engineering support through shipbuilding process.
• Assist in contract design, detail design, and construction activities.
• Conduct independent design reviews against standards.
• Assist in in-service ship design and engineering activities.
• Support shipboard installation and integration.
• Perform advanced mechanical analysis and simulations.
• Conduct mechanical tests and evaluations.
