Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Customer Support Administrator (IT Specialist) / Installer with an active Secret clearance to install network equipment at government sites and provide on-site user support. The role requires heavy US travel, with about three weeks per month on-site and NY-based responsibilities in a multi-year Enterprise Network Installation project.

When not traveling, you will serve as a key customer contact, resolving issues in a large Windows-based environment and ensuring a top-notch service

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 6–9 years IT customer support experience.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain/hold DEA suitability.
• Willing to travel 70–80% across the US; annual travel required.
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders/scissor lifts.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with ServiceNow ticketing and Windows environments.

Responsibilities

• Install network equipment (routers, switches, APs) per site layouts.
• Perform cabling, labeling, rack/cabinet installations and inventory.
• Coordinate with project management and field staff on-site.
• Provide on-site user support and issue resolution when not traveling.
• Maintain ServiceNow tickets for installation and support activities.
• Ensure safety protocols and OSHA guidelines are followed.
