Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks an FPGA Design Engineer for the MSTS division in the Rolling Meadows, IL area. You will research, design, and test digital hardware products, including radar and EW components, and lead small teams across engineering disciplines.

You will work on full lifecycle development, collaborate with manufacturing and program management, and operate within a security-conscious environment requiring US citizenship and secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of digital electronics design experience or a Master's degree in STEM.
• Digital circuit design experience, including simulation & schematic capture through test and integration.
• Hands-on prototyping and debug experience on digital subsystems (FPGAs, embedded processors, high-speed interfaces).
• Ability to lead projects with 2 or fewer team members.
• Ability to translate system requirements into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
• Familiarity with DOORS, ClearCase, ClearQuest documentation revision control.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems including radar and communications equipment.
• Lead the full life-cycle product development from concept to production and field support.
• Collaborate with integrated product teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
