Job summary

Collins Aerospace Mission Systems in Largo, FL is seeking a hands-on assembler to join the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM). This onsite role involves modifying, repairing, retrofitting and assembling complex cables, mechanical, electronic and hi-res assemblies from blueprints and schematics.

You will work with hand tools and departmental equipment, verify workmanship, maintain records, and handle hazardous waste.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. in the US)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, repair, rework, retrofit, upgrade and assemble cables, mechanical, electronic and hi-res assemblies and subassemblies from blueprints and schematics.
• Use jigs, fixtures, soldering irons and other hand and power tools; operate departmental machines and equipment as required.
• Receive and dispense materials to the lines; move materials as directed.
• Verify workmanship and product quality to the relevant standards.
• Store, handle and dispose of hazardous waste chemicals; able to lift up to 28 lbs.
