Job summary

DXC Technology Company is seeking a skilled software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain MCP servers and integrations using Python. You will build reusable MCP tools for AI agents to securely access enterprise applications, databases, and data sources, while applying least-privilege patterns and secure service-to-service communication.

You will collaborate with PeopleSoft teams and enterprise systems for seamless integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
3+ years hands-on software development, systems integration, API development, or backend integration experience.
Strong Python development skills for services, APIs, libraries, and connectors.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain MCP servers and integration components using Python.
Develop reusable MCP tools, resources, prompts, schemas, and interfaces for AI agents to interact with enterprise applications and data sources.
Build MCP capabilities that expose enterprise functions like search, retrieval, lookup, summarization, workflow, and knowledge content.
Develop Python-based connectors translating MCP tool requests into secure calls to enterprise APIs, databases, and services.
Implement secure read-only and transactional integration patterns with least-privilege access.
Develop and maintain REST/SOAP APIs, backend services, adapters, and integration logic for MCP tools.
Integrate MCP services with Oracle databases, enterprise apps, case-management systems, knowledge repositories, and data sources.
Work with PeopleSoft teams to expose HCM/CRM functionality through Integration Broker and web services.
Create data queries and data-access components with filtering and security controls.
Apply authentication/authorization using service identities, tokens, certificates, and cloud identities.
Implement validation, retries, timeouts, logging, and monitoring across MCP and API integrations.
Create mocks and automated tests for MCP behavior without using production data.
Troubleshoot MCP servers, Python, APIs, auth, DB connections, and downstream services.
Maintain MCP interface documentation and deployment procedures.
Establish reusable MCP development patterns and coding standards.
