Job summary

The Wicomico County Public Schools in Salisbury, Maryland, seeks a Secondary Dean of Students to join the administrative team in a full-time, 10-month role. The position operates under Unit I (Certificated) bargaining, with an exempt FLSA status and a commensurate salary based on experience and certification.

Responsibilities include assisting the principal with directives, resolving student-related issues, and coordinating programs to maximize student achievement and behavior.

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland Professional Certificate required.
• Administrator I endorsement preferred or working toward an Administrator I endorsement.
• Three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of the administrative team and carry out the directives of the principal.
• Assist in the resolution of issues which interfere with students receiving the maximum benefit from the school’s educational programs.
• Assist in protecting the health and welfare of all students.
• Plan and administer a program of effective student discipline under the direction of the principal.
• Coordinates and implements student related special programs as assigned by the principal.
• Assist principal in the coordination, supervision, and monitoring of student related school activities/events as well as extra-curricular activities that occur outside of the regular school day.
• Utilizes multiple data sources to improve student achievement, attendance and behavior.
• Other related duties as assigned.
