YES Prep seeks a Secondary Dean of Instruction in Houston, TX for an 11-month role starting at $70,500 annually. The position leads a cohort of teachers, sets high standards, and uses data to improve student outcomes.

Responsibilities include coaching, professional development planning, and pursuing credentialing to become a YES Prep Teacher Evaluator. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of exemplary teaching, and a Texas teaching certificate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of exemplary teaching experience.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate or equivalent.
• Commitment to YES Prep mission and core values.
• Ability to receive and act on feedback.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a cohort of teachers.
• Set clear expectations for instructional excellence across content areas.
• Observe and evaluate teachers to ensure high-quality instruction.
• Coach teachers using data to improve instruction and outcomes.
• Plan professional learning for campus staff during in-service days and PD days.
• Pursue credentialing to become a YES Prep Teacher Evaluator.
• Engage in district-led professional development for instructional leaders.
