DHT Group is seeking a Second Shift Welder/Fabricator at our Reese, Michigan location. The role involves taking projects from measurements and layout through fit-up, welding and final inspection in a busy fabrication shop.

Qualified candidates have welding or fabrication experience, strong layout/fit-up skills, and the ability to read drawings and use measuring tools. OSHA-safe practices and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
• Strong fabrication, layout and fit-up skills.
• Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares and other measuring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret prints or fabrication drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and metal fabrication for a variety of shop projects, repairs and components.
• Measure, lay out, cut, fit, tack, weld and finish fabricated parts.
• Read and work from prints, drawings, measurements and specifications.
• Use grinders, saws, cutting equipment and other common fabrication tools.
• Inspect completed work for proper fit, dimensions and weld quality.
• Assist with fabrication, modification and repair projects throughout the operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Work with shop personnel to complete projects safely and efficiently.
