Job summary

Tyson Foods’ Prepared Foods Division in Omaha seeks a 2nd shift supervisor to maintain high production, quality, and yields while ensuring a safe working environment and precise record keeping. You will oversee staffing, USDA inspection readiness, and continuous process improvements.

The role requires at least 1+ year in manufacturing with supervisory experience preferred; strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma; vocational or college courses preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years in a manufacturing environment; supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Special Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, strong work ethic, ability to work with minimum supervision, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Travel: Some travel to other facilities or to corporate.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the team, including hiring, training, retaining and counseling on benefits, compensation, policies; guide stretches and rotate stations.
• Review daily production orders to ensure customer fulfillment, proper coding, inventory rotation and record keeping.
• Ensure all line workstations are staffed before start-up of production.
• Ensure machinery is operating and USDA inspections are passed at all workstations.
• Promote safety through daily practices and monthly meetings.
• Oversee various processing operations and collaborate with other supervisors to solve problems.
• Provide ongoing education on quality importance.
• Perform other duties as needed.
