Job summary

Atkore is seeking an Operator Assistant for the 2nd shift in Harvey, IL. The role runs 3pm–11pm, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays, responsible for stacking and bundling products and supporting daily manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment and familiarity with lean manufacturing or business systems. Training will cover Atkore's processes and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial manufacturing
• Ability to operate a handheld scanner and utilize a variety of printed work instructions as part of daily work assignment.
• Strong sense of time organization and sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen

Responsibilities

• Load/unload finished and WIP product.
• Operate end finishing equipment.
• Line up and lubricate tubing at automatic swager or de-dimpler.
• Assist cut off operators inspecting tubing for quantity and quality.
• Band bundles, staple bands and spray ends.
• Clean zinc pots.
• Make up skids and maintain inventory of skid frames.
• Change saw blades as required.
