Job summary

Atkore International is hiring for an Operator Assistant on the 2nd shift (3pm–11pm) in Harvey, IL, about 30 miles south of downtown Chicago. The role reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and focuses on stacking and bundling product as part of daily operations.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, operating finishing equipment, maintaining tubing quality, banding, and keeping skid inventories. Experience in industrial manufacturing and ability to pass a drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Weeks of training or on-the-job instruction may be provided for daily tasks.
• Strong focus on safety and quality during busy shifts.
• Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment and scanners.

• Assist cut off operators inspecting tubing for quantity and quality.
• Band bundles, staple bands and spray ends.

• Change saw blades as required.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for general labor employees (3pm - 11pm), M-F, some Saturdays to be based out of Harvey, IL approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will responsible for stacking and bundling product.

What you'll do:

• Load/unload finished and WIP product.

What you'll bring:

• Experience in industrial manufacturing
• Ability to operate a handheld scanner and utilize a variety of printed work instructions as part of daily work assignment.
• Strong sense of time organization and sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Show progress and/or complete job specific training
• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
• Gain a basic understanding of required duties and job expectations.
