Job summary

IEM is seeking an Operations Manager in Jacksonville, FL to own the end-to-end production value stream, driving performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement while aligning with strategic objectives and customer expectations. Responsibilities include leading a cross-functional team, optimizing scheduling, and applying Lean principles to achieve safer, higher-quality, and cost-efficient production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles (e.g., Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager).
  • Proven track record of improving KPIs (cycle time reduction, FPY improvements, DPU reductions, or cost-saving initiatives).
  • Experience developing, coaching, and managing cross-functional teams with accountability and engagement.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with KPI-driven decision-making using Lean tools.
  • Hands-on experience in Lean manufacturing, value stream mapping, waste elimination, and production workflow optimization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with shop floor teams, peers, and senior leadership to ensure alignment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data reporting tools (INFOR/Syteline, Tableau, Excel).
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher), PMP, APICS CPIM a plus.

Responsibilities

  • KPI Ownership & Performance Management: Own, monitor, and drive improvements in KPIs like OTD, FPY, DPU, safety, and cost efficiency within the value stream.
  • Lead Daily Operations: Oversee daily production activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with schedules and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership & Accountability: Manage a cross-functional team including production, quality, materials, and maintenance with coaching and accountability.
  • Production Scheduling & Efficiency: Partner with Planning and Materials to balance demand with capacity and optimize labor deployment.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions using Pareto, A3, and process mapping.
  • Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation: Champion Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, and VSM to eliminate waste.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance to resolve design or equipment issues.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
