Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI is hiring mechanical technicians for the Quonset Point Test department on the second shift to support submarine construction. You will perform acceptance testing, hydrostatic tests, and system verifications using provided procedures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED or 2 years related technical experience, be able to work in confined spaces, and obtain DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or 2 years related technical experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical, piping or structural fields.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and unconditioned areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrostatic testing of ship hardware.
• Verify cleanliness flushes and hydraulic valve operation.
• Calibrate tank levels and complete compartment and lead bin tests.
• Record test results and document UNSAT conditions.
• Work both in shop and onboard submarines under construction.
