Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an organized, self-motivated Instructor to support QA/NQC training for NDT inspectors at Quonset Point, RI and Groton, CT. You will deliver NDT training, assess student performance, and contribute to curriculum development with SME input.

The role requires the ability to multi-task, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and procedure compliance. Some off-site and 2nd shift responsibilities may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years' experience as an NQC/QA Inspector; or 6+ years' experience instructing adult learners in a technical background; or naval nuclear propulsion experience.
• Must attain and maintain active Level II qualifications for each NDT method taught within 1 year of start date; progress required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Instruct training sessions for NDT methods (VT, MT, PT, UT, ET, RT).
• Attain & maintain Level II qualifications for each taught NDT method.
• Direct and assess hands-on training with mockups and exercises.
• Prepare for instruction by studying curricula.
• Assist with curriculum development as SME interfacing with NDT Engineers.
• Enforce safety rules in training and during audits.
• Assess student performance and identify policy/tech document non-conformances.
• Conduct assessments & pre-certification exams as scheduled.
• Grade tests and quizzes to capture knowledge.
