K-Five Construction Corporation is seeking a Mechanic Shop Foreman for a second-shift role to coordinate parts procurement, inventory and shop activities for trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate has supervisory experience and strong inventory skills.

Responsibilities include placing orders, updating systems, conducting safety talks, coordinating repairs with shop managers, and ensuring secure shop and yard areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years related experience in parts procurement with some supervisory responsibility in the maintenance of trailers, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers, suppliers, manufacturers, mechanics, and field personnel.
• Proficient in MS Office products and JIT, Inventory, costing, EOQ and taking physical inventories.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, shop manuals, parts, manuals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
• Ability to work 2nd shift with rotating Saturdays in season.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Place part orders, review received orders and update inventory through online systems.
• Conduct daily safety talks.
• Communicate with other shop managers, process of repairs, any issues.
• Walk the shop and yard areas making sure areas and equipment are secure.
• Routinely audits computerized inventory records to ensure accuracy and sufficient quantities, makes recommendations on excess or obsolete inventory.
• Expedites delivery of parts to mechanics.
• Submits daily “Shop Notes” at end of shift, to all shop personnel on all activities.
