Job summary

Clean Harbors in Peoria, IL seeks a Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee the shop’s daily operations, supervise maintenance work, and ensure fleet DOT compliance. The role includes maintaining service and parts records, performing diagnostics and repairs, and coordinating PM schedules.

Qualifications

5-7 years of diesel engine experience.
1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to work in team environment.
Must be versed in all aspects e.g. electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines etc.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day shop operations and supervise maintenance work.
Ensure fleet DOT compliance and maintain service/parts records.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnoses, and repairs; including offsite road calls.
Complete daily checklists and ensure unit has required maintenance.
Submit all paperwork for PM scheduling and safety inspections.
