Job summary

Clean Harbors in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Second Shift Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join our safety-focused team. You will be responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance of our fleet, with a noon-8:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team environment.
• 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools
• Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required)
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following policies and safe practices.
• Move company equipment safely on the yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing vehicle issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Complete daily checklists.
• Ensure equipment is parked/secured according to DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
