Job summary

SPX is seeking a Machine Operator I (2nd shift) at its Madison, AL facility. You will operate fabricating equipment that cuts and shapes metal parts, reading blueprints and inspection criteria to ensure quality.

The role includes setup, inspection, and basic maintenance tasks within a safety‑driven manufacturing environment. You will work under the Fabrication supervisor, supporting reliable production and quality control while adhering to established procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 1 year experience operating fabricating machinery.
• Read a tape measure and ruler and convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and operates machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Cuts and inspects parts for accuracy, places correct stickers on parts and sorts.
• Correctly interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Safely and effectively use of hand tools, measuring tape, and machinery.
• Interprets blueprints and drawings, sets-up and operates machines, uses hand tools and measures.
