Job summary

JX Enterprises, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic for the second shift to keep fleets on the road.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, focusing on engine and safety systems, while ensuring parts availability and accurate service records. Candidates should have a high school diploma, diesel-focused training, and 2+ years’ experience for experienced roles; CDL is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• For entry level, some previous experience in automotive repair or heavy-duty truck maintenance is required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn required.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred, or ability to obtain.
• Dependable and reliable attendance required.
• For an experienced level, complete a diesel-focused technical school program and 2+ years of maintenance and repair of commercial trucks, including engine diagnostics.
• Equivalent experience and formal education will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and perform diagnostics to determine maintenance needs.
• Test engine and safety systems to enforce compliance with standards.
• Repair, replace, or overhaul major assemblies and parts as needed.
• Evaluate service and parts options to manage costs.
• Perform corrosion control and winterization procedures.
• Maintain accurate vehicle service records for customers.
• Stay updated on federal/state vehicle regulations and safety requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols to protect staff and customers.
• Collaborate with team to deliver positive customer experiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the business.
