Job summary

Valmont in El Dorado, Kansas, is seeking a CNC/Plasma Drill Operator to set up and run plasma drill/table, drilling and cutting predetermined sizes of steel sheets and holes according to shop drawings.

The 2nd shift runs 4:00 pm–2:30 am, Monday–Thursday, with a starting wage of $26.32/hr plus a $1.50 shift differential. The role involves operating CNC equipment, reading blueprints, and using an overhead crane within a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in heavy manufacturing or equivalent.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and interpret shop drawings.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Program the plasma drill/table and verify dimensions from shop drawings.
• Observe operation and verify conformance to specifications and blueprints.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
• Use overhead crane to load/unload machinery.
• Wear PPE and work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
