Job summary

Valmont Industries in El Dorado, KS seeks a CNC/Plasma Drill Operator to set up and operate plasma drilling equipment, drilling and cutting steel to blueprints. Starting wage is shown with shift differential; team-driven environment with emphasis on safety and productivity.

Responsibilities include programming the plasma drill, verifying dimensions, maintaining equipment, and adhering to PPE and safety rules in a fast-paced shop setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience in a heavy manufacturing setting
• Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings
• Ability to operate overhead cranes
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people
• Attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions
• Meet production, safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment
• Lifting up to 50 pounds (frequent up to 20 pounds)
• Wear required PPE and follow safety regulations
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment

Responsibilities

• Program the automatic operation of the plasma drill and/or table and verify dimensions from shop drawings
• Observe operation and verify conformance of machined work to data
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment
• Use overhead crane to load/unload machinery
• Wear required PPE and work in non-temperature controlled/outdoor environment
• Other duties as required and/or assigned
