Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, located in Rome, NY, seeks an in-house CNC Machinist to set up and operate multiple CNC machines to produce precision module parts. You will perform in-process inspection and support housekeeping and tool movements on the shop floor.

The role requires reading blueprints and routings, basic computing, and the ability to work with hand tools and precision measuring devices. Onsite role with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Blueprint and routing reading comprehension.
• Competent with hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills (logon, data entry).
• Obtain certifications and qualifications required to perform job.

Responsibilities

• Obtains necessary stock, fixtures, tooling and gaging.
• Sets-up and operates CNC machines simultaneously, to produce module parts.
• Operates CNC machines such as lathes, grinders, drills, presses, saws.
• Performs in-process inspection as a certified operator.
• Performs CMM.
• May be assigned to support functions such as: Deburr, Tumble, Part Mark.
• Performs computer transactions.
• Moves parts to, from, within module.
• Cleans machines.
• General housekeeping.
• Provides directions to Machining Support Tech.
